1. Have environment settings been set? If yes, what settings?
2. Has a Progress server and/or broker been started?
* Important to check is: DLC, PROCFG, PROMSGS, PROOIBRK, PROOIDRV
Make sure no spaces are being placed between the name of the variable and the "="-sign.
3. What parameters were provided with these?
* These are the 'normal' parameters needed for Progress (e.g: -N, -S -H and the -SV for the broker).
4. What parameters were provided in the Actuate Connection Screen?
* Check for same parameters as on the startup of the server/broker
5. Is the customer trying to establish a connection with the OIB to the Database Broker via a Self-Service Connection (Shared Memory) or via Networking ?
6. What environment variables were given for the client side?
7. Ask for traces/messages of PROOIDRV.LG and of the .LG file of
the database.
8. What exact error message is being displayed from the Actuate Developer Workbench screen?
9. Is the customer trying to connect via .BAT or script files?
(have the customer do everything manually to make sure no typo's were made)
10. Is the customer able to make a Progress connection (without the use of Actuate)?
