FACT(s) (Environment):
UNIX
SYMPTOM(s):
Number of users connected to the Progress database is higher than reported by operating system
All users are connected as self-service clients using telnet
Counting users with promon or using the _Connect VST returns much higher number than OS 'who' command
CAUSE:
As the UNIX who command reads /etc/utmp, not all Progress self-service
clients are reported, even though they are logged in using telnet session.
FIX:
This is not Progress issue as running the cross reference report with the Progress self-service
client's pids tested with the OS 'ps' command shows no discrepancies.
