Release Notes: Installs subsequent to DBE install
INTRODUCTION:
=============
If a user has installed DBE utilities, and then later wants to install
another product, if they do not choose DBE component again, the DBE
programs can be replaced by single-byte versions.
DESCRIPTION OF ISSUE AND WHAT TO DO:
===================================
The install utility should check the existing configuration on one's
system and if it is DBE should automatically apply the DBE versions
without requiring the user to enter DBE control codes. Failing that,
Progress should prompt the user to enter the DBE control codes.
PRESENTLY THIS UTILITY DOES NOT HAVE THAT FUNCTIONALITY. Until this
feature is implemented, users should know that if they are installing
a product to an existing DBE progress area, if they are running
on Windows they should always enter the DBE control codes at the same
time they are entering the codes for the other products which they
wish to install, and if they are running on UNIX, they should always
run the make_dbe utility as a last step.
