FACT(s) (Environment):
AppBuilder
UIB
Windows 32-bit
SYMPTOM(s):
Selecting an OCX from the Object Palette
Error: The file <OCX file name> does not exist.
CAUSE:
When you select the 'OCX' icon from the Object Palette in the UIB/AppBuilder the UIB/AppBuilder brings up a dialog box called 'Choose Control'.
This dialog box contains a list of all of the OCX controls which Progress believes are installed on your system.
If you select a control and Progress displays a dialog box which contains a message similar to the following, it means that some other application which you installed and then removed did not properly clean up the System Registry.
The file C:\WINNT\System32\SOME.OCX does not exist.
FIX:
You must reinstall the OCX on your system.
