FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1X
OpenEdge 10.0X
SYMPTOM(s):
Instaling Webclient application generates 0x80020009 wcadd/_ExtractComponent.p" (5890 ).
Error occurred while accessing component property/method: OpenCab.
The system cannot find the file specified. Error code: 0x80020009
wcadd/_ExtractComponent.p (5890)
The .cab files are not corrupted
All the .cab files are present
Using procedure libraries .pl within the application being generated
CAUSE:
The installation uses an ActiveX Automation object to extract the files from the .cab files for the components to be installed. The error indicates that there was a problem when opening a cab file that needed to be extracted as part of the installation or update.
A corrupted .cab file, or missing files in the .cab file will cause this error.
FIX:
If you are on Progress/Webclient version 9.1X, please upgrade to 9.1E.
For OpenEdge 10.0X, there is a problem when you are using .pl files that will prevent the diff files from being generated properly (for updated applications), when one or more files are added to the library file (.pl) using backslashes (\) in the file path. Replace them with forward slashes (/) and generate the application files again. The fix is included in version OpenEdge 10.1A (avail at the end of 2005).
