Can't Load .d and using Data Admin Tool

DRAFT COPY - Currently under review and edit.
(definitely not finished)

INTRODUCTION:
=============
This KBase describes HOW TO check to see if you can load information
into your database, and what tools will allow you to make the load.

WHY YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS:
===========================
If you cannot load data into your database because the Load option is
greyed out within the Data Administration Tool, this kbase should
provide you with the information to load your data.

WHAT CIRCUMSTANCES WILL GENERATE THIS:
======================================
If you attempt to run Progress from a Runtime Client,you will not be
able to use the Data Administration menu to load data.

If you attempt to use the _prowin that is shipped with the Windows
Server Product or Novell Server Products, you will not be able to
use the Administration menu to load data into the database because
the bundled client shipped with the server installation is limited
function and cannot load data in the normal fashion.

ONLINE PROCEDURES OR UTILITIES:
===============================
If this is a runtime client and you do not have access to a machine
with a Progress License other than runtime, you will need to speak
to your Application Developer or with your Progress sales rep to
acquire a Progress package or a precompiled procedure which will
allow you to complete your load successfully.

If you are using the bundled client that comes with either the
Windows server package or the Novell server package you can either
use a ProVision or Personal Database installation and make a direct
connection to the database and load the data this way.
OR
You can start a database server for the database which just has your
database structure in it and connect with any Progress package that
includes the client networking license and load your data this way.

There is another method if you wish to load your data quickly but
this will bypass normal data checking methods (i.e. referential
triggers and integrity testing for the load is disabled).
You can create a bulk-load description file which will require you
to do a bulk load to load the data and do an index rebuild after.
This last option may not be available in all situations.
