GOAL:

Can a Progress Windows Client connect to a Progress database on a Unix system in single user mode?

FIX:

No.

The Progress client would need direct file system access to the database files system.

Although this can often be accomplished with a Samba share to the Unix system there is no guarantee that the Windows client and Unix database are byte-swap compatible.

Progress does not support a Unix shared database being connected to directly by a Windows Progress client.
