GOAL:
Can I designate a primary buffer to use when attaching a data-source to a table in a ProDataSet in order to avoid having to map fields?
FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.0A
FIX:
No, you cannot. Having the ability to specify a primary buffer from which to pull data when the data-source is a join and there are common fields between the tables in the join does not really help in eliminating the step of mapping common fields. All it may do is reduce somewhat the number of fields you have to map. As such, it was decided that implementing such a feature was not effective.
