GOAL:

GOAL:

What is the option available to modify a database structure without using procopy

FACT(s) (Environment):

All Supported Operating Systems
Progress/OpenEdge Versions

FIX:

Execute the following steps:
1) Make a FULL backup of the database.
probkup <database name> <device or destination directory and file name>
2) Create the new structure (.st) file using name this file with the same the same name of the database that is going to be used on the next step. Name the file the same as the database name is the most important step for this solution, if you don't do it the old database structure will be used. When defining the new structure make sure that you have all the storage areas defined on the backup database. Also, make sure that you have enough space in each extent if you are changing sizes.
3) Restore your backup having the new structure file on the current directory
prorest <database name> <device or source directory and file name>
