Status: Verified
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x
SYMPTOM(s):
Calling the file 'version' from a script
$DLC/version
The error below appears:
sh: PROGRESS: not found
In Progress 8.x, it returns the content of the file 'version' located in the Progress install directory ($DLC).
CAUSE:
In the version file, it should read: echo PROGRESS Version, but the echo has been removed.
FIX:
Edit version file & put ECHO before Progress version.
For example, for a 'version' file from Progress 9.1E, the command would look like:
echo PROGRESS Version 9.1E01 as of Fri Feb 4 13:42:29 EST 2005
