FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.x
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000
SYMPTOM(s):
One user can create Progress database on machine other user can not create database on same machine
** Cannot find or open file C:\PROGRESS\Databases\sports.db, errno = 2
CAUSE:
Original installation did not use the option to make Progress the default on the machine. Therefore the Progress registry keys were only copied into the original users registry.
FIX:
Use %DLC%\bin\INI2REG.exe to load values from the %DLC%\bin\progress.ini into either the current users registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER or for a more global solution use INI2REG.exe to load the values into the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key section of the registry which make this usable by all accounts that have rights on the machine.
