SYMPTOM(s):
Error 1719 when starting multiple databases on one machine
Unable to create shared memory <shmname>, error 1455. (1719)
Unable to create shared memory <shmname>, error <n>. (1719)
Also cannot start processes such as online backup for databases that did start
CAUSE:
Windows error 1455 is "The paging file is too small for this operation to complete."
This indicates the system is simply out of (virtual) memory.
This is most commonly caused by large values set for -L and -B database parameters.
FIX:
Fine tune the database parameters to run with the available resources
or
increase the memory of the server machine hosting the database.
