SYMPTOM(s):
FGCOLOR and BGCOLOR have different shade
Yellow changed from LIGHT-BROWN
Dard-Gray changed from Gray
CAUSE:
In V7 and V8, the COLOR Phrase is only supported for backwards compatibility.
The COLOR Phrase uses color names to identify the colours.
FGCOLOR and BGCOLOR attributes, used for Widgets, use color numbers.
Here is the table of translations for V6 and V7/V8 syntax equivalents:
FGCOLOR COLOR
BGCOLOR Phrase
------- ------
0 BLACK
1 BLUE
2 GREEN
3 CYAN
4 RED
5 MAGENTA
6 BROWN
7 GRAY
7 DARK-GRAY
9 LIGHT-BLUE
10 LIGHT-GREEN
11 LIGHT-CYAN
12 LIGHT-RED
13 LIGHT-MAGENTA
14 LIGHT-BROWN
14 YELLOW
15 WHITE
There is no color 8.
FIX:
Colors are defined in PROGRESS.INI. There is a mistake in colors 7 and
8, since color 7 looks like dark grey instead of grey, and color 8
looks like grey instead of dark grey (they are interchanged).
Progress is not going to modify them, due to the large number of
applications that have already been written referencing these colors.
Developers should not use the COLOR Phrase with V7 or V8. FGCOLOR and
BGCOLOR attributes are preferred to avoid problems.
