FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1D
SYMPTOM(s):
Can not connect in client/server mode.
Using a service name for -S startup parameter.
The service name begins with numeric values (numbers).
CHANGE:
Installed Progress Service Pack 9.1D08
CAUSE:
This is a known issue being investigated by Development.
FIX:
Choosing either option below will allow you to connect in client/server mode while using a service name with the -S parameter.
1. Use the port number in place of the service name for the value used with the -S parameter.
2. Upgrade both the server and client installations of Progress to 9.1D08.
