GOAL:
What needs to be done when upgrading Fathom Replication from version 1.0A to 2.OA?
GOAL:
What should be done before migrating Fathom Replication from version 1.0A to 2.0A?
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
FIX:
When upgrading from Fathom HAR 1.0A to 2.0A the following should be done in case there are any unforeseen problems during or after the upgrade process.
1. Backup the following files using an OS backup not a Progress backup.
Source database.
Target database.
database.repl.recovery files.
Because Version 2.0A upgrades the database.repl.recovery files, once the upgrade to Version 2.0A is complete, the Version 2.0A files may not be used to go back to Version 1.0A. If there is a need to go back to version 1.0A on the source machine the following steps must be taken.
1. Backup the source database.
2. Delete the database.repl.recover files
3. Start AI.
4. Enable and configure Fathom Replication.
5. On the target machine, insure structure file is correct.
6. Restore the backup from the source database.
7. Enable and configure Fathom Replication.
Fathom Replication may now be run by simply starting the source and target
databases with a Fathom Replication qualifier.
