SUMMARY:
Support of LFP with the PROGRESS/400 DataServer depends on:
1. AS/400 processor:
CISC is supported (V3R1, V3R2). For V3R1 the PTF D946402 (provided
by PSC) is needed. For V3R2 the PTF is not available yet.
RISC is not supported (V3R6, V3R7).
NOTE: Release Notes for 8.0C states that the PTF for V3R6 will be
shipped as soon as it is available. This is no longer the case.
2. Client operating system:
MS-Windows 3.1 and 3.11: Supported with any version of Progress.
Setup requirements:
- In PROGRESS.INI: AS400_LfpDllName=AS4LFP.DLL.
- In AUTOEXEC.BAT: LFPWIN before starting Windows.
MS-Windows 95 and Windows NT: Supported with client versions 8.1A
and greater.
Setup requirements:
- In PROGRESS.INI: AS400_LfpDllName=AS4LFP16.DLL.
- In AUTOEXEC.BAT: LFPWIN before starting Windows.
DOS PATH variable (not PROPATH) must include the
directory which contains AS4LFP32.DLL (normally
C:\DLC\BIN).
IBM AIX: Only supported until DataServer version 7.3C20.
