Conversion Support for SmartObject V8.1/8.2 to V9.x (ADM1 to ADM2)
FIX:
This is the Official Policy of PSC according to the ADM conversion from V8.1/V8.2 to V9.x.
According to V9 ADM2 Guide and reference:

With V9, Progress provides a SmartObject Utility that aids in
converting V8.1/8.2 to V9 Objects.
This is an optional Utility which is located in ProTools (SmartObjects
Upgrade Utility).
Recompiled V8 SmartObjects will work in V9. You should carefully consider
whether you have specific development or application needs that
require you to convert objects. If you need to convert them, make sure
before beginning the conversion to devise a conversion strategy to
accomplish your tasks.
There is 2 aspects to consider in a Conversion Strategy:

A. You should address how you will use the conversion Utility.
B. How you will test the final conversion.
CAUTION:
========
* If you have customized any part of V8 ADM Method Libraries, added
local procedures to SmartObjects, added code to a SmartObject instance, or any other customizations, Progress Software Corporation does not guarantee that
converted code will work as it did in V8. The conversion Utility
cannot completely convert most SmartObjects due to the lack of necessary
information (Introduction in V9 of SDOs which didn't exist in V8, many
modifications in the ADM2 SuperProcedures and introduction of New
Classes of Objects).
* Progress Software Corporation recommends that you use the Conversion
Utility only as an aid, with the understanding that you will have to
introduce manual adjustments to your Customized SmartObject application well
beyond what the Conversion Utility provides.
Note in addition, that Progress Software Technical Support provides
only General, High-Level Assistance for the conversion of SmartObject
applications and does NOT PROVIDE code fixes.
