If you are installing a new version of Progress on your machine and
are getting errors related to:
_ovrly and not being able to open some files or
Can't find pathname/_ovrly
The problem could be due to your Operating System (OS) version not being supported with the version of Progress you are trying to install.
1. Use the oslevel command or uname -a to determine the UNIX version
of the OS you are using. If you are on a non-unix platform
use winver or winmsd to determine your OS version.
2. Review our Product Availability Guide to confirm that the
version of Progress you are attempting to install is supported
with the version of the Operating System you are using.
The Product Availability Guide will also indicate if you require
a specific Operating System level patch or Service Pack.

Note: If the OS version is not valid for the Progress release you are attempting to install, you will need to:
a. Upgrade your Operating System Release
b. Obtain an earlier version of Progress
Please contact your VAR, AP or Progress Sales Representative for
additional assistance.
3. If the version is correct and you are still experiencing problems,
please check the media code to validate that the one you were
shipped is the correct one for the platform you are trying to
install on. Example: If you are using Red Hat Linux, then you
would have a media code of 178 - not 177 which would be for
UNIX V.4 or Caldera Open UNIX.
