Versions of X (R4 and R5) and possible problems on UNIX
X11 R4 and R5 versions for Version 6 of Progress
------------------------------------------------
Progress Software uses a symbol in X11 R4 whose name has changed
in X11 R5. This will cause a problem in the following cases:
1) For customers running probuild who have X11 R5 on their system.
Users will get an error and will require a patch from Progress
Software in order to run probuild. Please call Technical Support.
2) For customers who have a Progress executable that was linked
dynamically (which will require runtime resolution) and have
X11 R5 on their system.
Progress links statically unless that is not possible for a
particular machine. If users receive an error for the unresolved
symbol during runtime, they will require a patch from Progress and
should call Technical Support.
This is for Progress version 6.2N and below. In versions above 6.2N,
we will no longer use the X symbol causing the problem.
