SYMPTOM(s):
Decimal database field loses decimals
Decimal value assigned to database field is not displayed properly
Decimal value retrieved from database field does not give expected result in calculations.
CAUSE:
The number of decimals stored in the database is set too low.
If the format displays more decimals than are actually stored, this becomes visible as the additional decimals will always be zero.
FIX:
Adjust the number of decimals stored as required.
