SYMPTOM(s):
bi file has been deleted.
Database is up and running.
CAUSE:
When deleting a file in Unix, such file remains on disk as long as is being used.If bi file is deleted but the backup is running, the file is being used and that's the reason why the db is still working.If the database stops, then It won't be able to start again without bi file.
FIX:
1)Disconnect all users
2)Keep the database up and running
3)Perform an online backup
4)Shutdown database
5) Restore Backup
