GOAL:
Why is -Mpte only implemented for True64?
GOAL:
Can -Mpte be implemented on HPUX?
FACT(s) (Environment):
HP-UX
Compaq Tru64 UNIX
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x
FIX:
-Mpte causes shared memory segments to be created in an optimal way on Tru64, relying on a Tru64-specific capability. It is a bug that this parameter exists, we should always do it that way.
Similarly, we use ISM ("intimate shared memory") on Solaris. That is a Solaris specific.
