FACT(s) (Environment):

OpenEdge 10.0A
ODBC DataServer
MS SQL DataServer

SYMPTOM(s):

ODBC DataServer broker has been started from Progress Explorer

MS SQL Server DataServer broker has been started from Progress Explorer

Connecting with the parameter -Dsrv SVUB,1

Unable to establish Unified Broker context (7256)

Failed to connect to the ODBC database (6142)

Failed to connect to the <db-type> database. (6142)

The problem is also reproducible in 9.1D09

CAUSE:

Bug# 20040428-004

FIX:

- Upgrade to OpenEdge 10.0B where this problem has been fixed.
In version 9.1D09, upgrade to Progress 9.1E.

OR
- Use the DataServer broker _probrkr instead, if upgrading to OpenEdge 10.0B (or Progress 9.1E) is not possible.
