The current temp-table support really only supports the definition of the temp-table and the ability to use it in the SDO’s query. The developer is on his own, when these temp-tables is to be used and populated and although there are White Papers that assist and guide the user in this task it is a very cumbersome task.
A complete temp-table support requires a more direct support of data management, as well as flexible hooks that allows temp-tables to be plugged into the current data flow.
Although the definition of a temp-table in a SDO was simplified, there are still no hooks that allow the population and management of temp-table information between the logical procedure and the SDO data targets. The poor support for temp-tables in SDOs preclude developers from implementing effective data management in situations where the SDO performs poorly.
