SYMPTOM(s):
All caching that is currently performed at start-up should be configurable to be done on demand: this would improve login performance on a WAN considerably
CAUSE:
Enhancement request# 20040421-014
FIX:
We added new caching at startup in 2.1A and made that new caching configurable. 2.1A can be configured to turn off caching of toolbars, classes and entities at login. See the 2.1A Performance Whitepaper for more information.
We did not implement a configuration option to turn off pre-2.1A caches of translations, security and profiles. We could consider doing so in a future release.
