GOAL:
Must Fathom replication be disabled before running proutil updatevst?
GOAL:
Do I have to disable OpenEdge Replication if i want to run the updatevst and updata schema commands?
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
OpenEdge Replication 10.x
Fathom Replication 3.0A
Fathom High Availability Replication
FIX:
Yes, replication does need to be disabled before updatevst can be done.
The relevant section in the Progress Fathom Replication User?s Guide is the Utilities and Fathom Replication section in the Ch. 4 Reference, where it states that -
"Many of the Progress database utilities are used to change a database. Table 4?12 lists the Progress utilities and indicates whether they are allowed to operate on a source or target database."
In the table 4-12 it notes that proutil -C updatevst can not be used with source or target databases.
