FIX:
In the past there have been differences between Dynamics 2.1 and OpenEdge. Dynamics 2.1a/2.1a01 is actually the more up to date product in terms of functionality, however there are service packs planned:
- OpenEdge Dynamics 10.0A01 in March, 2004
- Dynamics 2.1A02 in April, 2004
which will bring the products closer in terms of functionality.
There will still be a difference between 2.1A02 and 10.0A01, as 2.1A02 includes a couple of extra fixes relating to Treeview performance and Translation. In other respects 2.1A02 and 10.0A01 are the same.
If you wish to upgrade from 2.1A02 to 10.0A01 without Roundtable, this should be relatively straight forward and should only require a database conversion. There will be extra steps in a Roundtable environment because the site number for 10.0A Roundtable/Dynamics workspaces is different from 9.1x Roundtable/Dynamics workspaces. Development will provide migration steps for Roundtable users.
In addition to this, Roundtable users will need to wait for 2.1A02 in order to upgrade because of a known issue preventing Roundtable/Dynamics upgrades from 2.1A01 to 10.0A01.
