FACT(s) (Environment):

Installing MSJava from %DLC%\bin\3party\msjavx86.exe did not solve the problem
CAUSE:
MSJava version 5.00.3805 was preinstalled prior to Progress on that machine.
Progress does not work with MSJava version 5.00.3805 on Windows XP
and the MSJava install shield of the older %DLC%\bin\3party\msjavx86.exe version 5.00.3182 does not overwrite the newer version.
FIX:
1. Manually remove the following files of MSJava version 5.00.3805
from the windows\system32\ directory on Windows XP:
msjava.dll
jview.exe
wjview.exe
2. Install MSJava version 5.00.3182 using %DLC%\bin\3party\msjavx86.exe
