GOAL:
Auto-Connect Database - how long should it stay connected?
FIX:
Auto connect only /connects/ automatically. All database connections, automatic or not, are dicsonnected when you quit.
We have sometimes wished we had not implemented auto-connect.
It does not seem all that useful we expected. It has the undesirable property that because the connections are hidden in the databases, it is hard to figure out what databases are being used by what applications.
Of course, you could argue the same about .pf files, but at least you can use find and grep to get an inventory of those.
