FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows
SYMPTOM(s):
DB crashes when trying to start up.
Corrupt block detected when reading from database. (4229)
CHANGE:
A DB was copied from UNIX to WINDOWS.
CAUSE:
Copying a DB to another platform is not supported by Progress.
In a UNIX created Progress DB, the pointers are byte swapped in relation to a Windows created DB, so they are incompatible.
FIX:
Make a dump in the UNIX machine and a load it into the DB on Windows.
