Communications Libraries required on UNIX for v8 and above
Due to changes in the core Progress product in V8, Progress now uses
C functions which UNIX OS vendors bundle into their communication
(network) libraries. Some OS vendors no longer ship these libraries
with the standard OS.
The following errors may occur when trying to run Progress with the
communication libraries not installed:
_progres: symbol not found: gettimeofday
libsocket.so not found.
Customers who encounter such problems should contact the OS vendor to
obtain the communication libraries.
