AutoFormating causes problems with the 16-bit Help Compiler

When creating .rtf files to be used by the 16-bit Help Compiler, it is
best to use Microsoft Word 2.0. If you use Word 6 or higher, there
are certain features which will cause the compiled .hlp file to be
formatted incorrectly. In particular, the AutoFormat features, such
as automatic numbered lists, will cause formatting problems. It is
also important not to use "Replace As You Type" features such as
Smart Quotes, Ordinals with Superscript, etc. These can be disabled
in Word 7 under Tools -> Options -> AutoFormat.

If you have used AutoFormat features, you may correct the formatting
problems by opening the .rtf file in Word 6, saving as a Word 2
document, and then re-saving in Rich Text Format. Alternatively, you
may open the .rtf file in Word 2 and save as a Rich Text Format
document. Either method will strip the file of the AutoFormatting
problems.

Other problems with the RTF standard in Word 6 and workarounds are
discussed on page C-12 of the version 7 Help Developmemt Guide.
