FACT(s) (Environment):

Fathom Management 2.x

SYMPTOM(s):

File Viewer Manager: File viewer expired: (69)

CAUSE:

Veiwer had reached a timeout limit.

FIX:

This is normally a benign and expected event.

File viewers take up a lot of memory and because there is no way for the
server to know if and when the browser (client) that opened the viewer is
done or gone, there is a timer on the memory that works in
two steps.
1. If the file viewer is not accessed within some period of time (4 hours
is the default setting) the viewer's memory copy of the file is released (this is a "stale" state for the file viewer).

Settings and navigation of the file viewer remain intact.

2. If the viewer is not touched at all for 48 hours (default setting)
the rest of the viewer is released from Fathom memory (expired state).
The expired state is logged in the admserv.log.

The message is primarily a benign event, but is done because a user may have pinned up a file viewer page left untouched for several days at a time. Should the user try to use that viewer after it expires they will wind up with a
completely new file viewer. Any setting or navigation that was done with the expired file viewer will have been lost. Hence it seemed prudent to log the expiration of the file viewer.
