FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.x
SYMPTOM(s):
Executing the Progress Debugger remotely with an X-Windows emulator may cause refreshing/repainting problems.
CAUSE:
There have been reported issues with using the Progress Debugger remotely with an X-Windows emulator. The performance can become a problem as there is huge amount of data passed to and from the debugger session. This can cause the emulator to experience problems when painting or refreshing the debugger screen.
FIX:
A possible workaround to this is to run the debugger locally.
Also, a feature added to OpenEdge 10 that allows the debugger to execute on the appserver is another way to avoid this issue.
