SYMPTOM(s):
FILE-INFO:FILE-TYPE returning xrw when processing many files
Processing many files works ok for a few hours but eventually FILE-INFO:FILE-TYPE returns xrw instead of frw.
SEARCH function also failing
CAUSE:
Due to heavy processing of files it was very difficult to pin down the problem. However the issue was caused by a the compression algorithm failing to release system resources though not raising an error. The compression algorithm was based on a 3rd party product.
FIX:
No fix required, not a Progress problem
