SYMPTOM(s):
Issuing a proadsv -stop does not stop Database(s).
A proadsv -stop will stop nameservers and appservers.
Databases, NameServers, and AppServers have all been configured via the Progress Explorer or OpenEdge Explorer tool.
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1x
All Supported Operating Systems
OpenEdge 10.x
CAUSE:
This is expected Behavior. Stopping the Adminservice does not also shutdown the databases. The databases are an independent process of the Adminservice.
FIX:
Use the Progress Explorer or the dbman utility to start/stop the databases.
