GOAL:
Is there a way when having multiple Progress Versions in the same box to guarranty that the DLLs and OCXs are not overriden by the newest version
FIX:
There is no way in the same box to have the guarranty that DLLs or OCXs/ActiveXs will not be overriden by the newer ones!!!
The only way is to have several clean installs of the OS and clean installs of the progress Version for that OS.
As for example you know that Windows can have multiple boots in the same box.
As you should already know it's Windows behaviour and some installs ask for overriden with newer DLLs.
As in the example you can experienced, OpenEdge 10 has replaced the prox.dll and the same dll will be included for 9.1D with SP09 when it will be released in May/June.
So in your application depends on OCXs/ActiveXs and DLLs, you should implement a way to keep the version safe from upgrades.
