Status: Unverified
SYMPTOM(s):
Adding rule via: monitoring plans --> Default_DB_RuleSet --> View
Library Definition --> Add Rule
The rule 'Area Space Utilization High' is not on the rule list
CAUSE:
Expected behaviour.
Since every database can have different areas, the AreaSpaceUtilizationHigh and VariableAreaExtentGrow rules can only be added to a monitoring plan (for an individual database) and cannot be added to a rule set. In order to display the screens for these rules, the DBAgent needs to connect to the database and retrieve the appropriate areas for the rule. With a rule set, there is no direct connection to any database - the rules are "floating" until the ruleSet is added to a monitoring plan.
FIX:
Add the rule to a specific database (not via the rule set) like via:
monitoring plans --> Edit Default_schedule_plan--> add rule -->`Area Space Utilization High'
