- Full 32-bit implementation (no 16-bit version)
- Does NOT run on DOS or Windows 3.1
GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

- Full V8 character widget support, including updateable browse
- V8 character event processing
- Supports character ADE Tools: Procedure Editor, Application
Compiler, Data Dictionary (no RESULTS)
- Support SmartObjects running in character mode
- Supports DataServers, Networking, etc
MIGRATION
=========
- R-code compatible with 8.0/8.1 UNIX character apps
- Requires recompile for V6/V7 apps
- For V6/V7 migration, has the same load & go limitations as UNIX
V6/V7 to V8
PC INTEGRATION
==============
- Supports mouse
Can be turned on/off by setting EnableMouse=Yes/No in the
[WinChar Startup] section of the INI file and/or Registry.
- Supports long filenames, UNC pathnames, registry
- User can run the GUI Progress debugger on character apps
- SYSTEM-HELP brings up Windows help
- User can build and run character app from the GUI UIB (using
alternate layout)
