Testing for yellow pages on Services Files

If customers have a problem with their services file they can get
errors like: Unable to find server with protocol "tcp" in
/etc/services (777) or (5192) for version 8. If they are unaware they
have yellow pages implemented for the services file, they could be
using a different services file than that stored in their
/etc directory on their local machine. They must correct the services
file they are actually using. To test whether they have yellow pages
implemented for that file, do the following: ypcat services, if they
get an output, they are using yellow pages for that file. They can
pipe the ypcat command to grep for the service name they are trying to
reference with their -S to see what the real entry is for that
service.
