GOAL:
Is there a way to have the appserver broker detect a second nameserver and register with it?
FIX:
The NameServer uses whatever AppServer registers itself as the default service. You can specify any AppServer instance as the default service during AppServer configuration. However, Progress Software Corporation recommends that you avoid relying on the default service and provide explicit Application Service names for access by all client applications.
In order for a second nameserver to satisfy a client connection request, it has to be configured using Nameserver Neighbors or Nameserver Replication. Nameserver Replication will provide failover in case one Nameserver becomes unavailable on one machine. Nameserver Neighbors will allow a client to find a Nameserver that is registered with the particular application service that it is looking for. Nameserver Neighbors will not provide failover.
