SYMPTOM(s):
After a dumping and load space in the database is smaller.
CAUSE:
When the structure of the database in defined the st file,Progress allocates that space on disk according to the information included in the .st file,So even if data take 48 MB, the space of the database will be which is defined in the structure.( the area and the extents).By dumping and loading also fragmentation is removed. So If the tables in the database have many delete/insert and update operations, data blocks could have much fragmentation, dumping and loading collect that data and join them in new blocks which solve the fragmentation problem.therefore the space can also get smaller.
FIX:
When dumping and loading, create the database with the Prostrct create command with the same .st file and then populate the database.
