GOAL:
How to export data from Progress to Microsoft SQL Server
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x
All Supported Operating Systems
FIX:
1) Set up the Progress database SQL-92 server to connect via ODBC using solution 18757.
2) Import data via Progress ODBC driver into Microsoft SQL Server:
If using Microsoft SQL Server 2000 then use Microsoft SQL Server's DTS (Data Transformation Services) wizard to export data directly from Progress to Microsoft SQL Server.
If using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 then DTS is no longer available.
Import the data into an Excel spreadsheet and import the spreadsheet into SQL Server via the Import Data wizard in Tasks.
