CAUSE:
Using an incorrect version of the JDK such as 1.4.0. The supported JDK for Progress 9.1D on HPUX-11 is 1.3.0. Also, as of April 2003, the Progress test group has certified the 9.1D 32bit product (with Progress 9.1D05) using the 1.3.1 JDK on HPUX 11. Now that the Progress development staff has completed their testing on the 9.1D05 32-bit service pack using the 1.3.1 JDK on HPUX 11, they are satisfied that we will be capable of supporting this configuration.
FIX:
Uninstall Progress. Install the JDK 1.3.1 and reinstall Progress, entering the new java path during the installation.
