Error "Unknown Query Engine Error" connecting Crystal Reports 10 to Progress 9.1D
Crystal Reports 10 displays "Unknown Query Engine Error" when trying to establish the ODBC connection
Connection using the same DSN with Crystal Reports 9 works properly
Error occurs when using MERANT ODBC 3.60 driver
Error occurs when using DataDirect ODBC 4.1 driver (PGPRO18.DLL, dated 27/01/03)
CAUSE:
The problem is caused by a bug in the new version of the Crystal Query Engine
FIX:
The following options are available to resolve the problem:
1) Upgrade to the latest service pack for Crystal Reports 10 to continue working with the Merant 3.60 ODBC driver
2) Upgrade to version 4.1 of the DataDirect ODBC driver, using the version supplied with Progress 9.1D Service Pack 7 and onwards
