FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1D
FACT(s) (Environment):
Linux
SYMPTOM(s):
Using HLC to interact with libraries for Dialogic I/O boards
After making HLC call to talk to Dialogic board application executes OS-COMMAND statement
Control never returns to Progress once external process is forked via OS-COMMAND
CHANGE:
Moved application from SCO to Linux
CAUSE:
After running strace utility on the process it was determined that everything in Progress is working as expected. It appears that the Dialogic libraries are somehow interfering with signals (or possibly the process as a whole as clone() is used by Dialogic in Linux to start threads and clone() is not used in the SCO version of their libraries).
FIX:
This is not a Progress issue. Please contact Dialogic.
