Problems with Remote OIB OID on NT 7.3B with servany
Customers who have started their 7.3B database on NT with the servany
utility have found that they cannot get the remote OIB to work on
their NT server. The OIB will start and will spawn an OID, but ODBC
clients can not connect successfully. This is true for both version
7.3B and the 7.3B01 patch.
Progress does not recommend the use of the servany utility for
starting V6 or V7 database servers. Version 8.1A of Progress supports
starting the database as an NT service.
