GOAL:
Does Progress pre-allocate space for a record?
FIX:
Progress does not pre-allocate space for a record.
Progress allocates space on an "AS NEEDED" basis when the data is actually entered.
When a Progress record is defined to have two fields (ex. fld1 x(2000) fld2 x(1000) ), Progress does not actually allocate space for the record as defined.
Space is only allocated when data is actually entered and the amount of spaced used is based on the amount of data entered, not how the record was defined.
