PUT CONTROL not sending control characters to an HP LaserJet 4M Plus printer.
Control characters are correctly being sent to other printers.

CAUSE:
The problem is caused by an incorrect setting within the printer.
FIX:
Within the printer there is a setting for "Personality" which can have one of three values: AUTO, PCL, and PS.
Review the HP Printer manual and find out how to change this value to PCL. AUTO does not work properly.
