Retrieving data into Microsoft Excel via Microsoft Query tool
Syntax error (7587)
CAUSE:
The Microsoft Query tool is generating a SELECT statement which contains garbage characters in the middle of the statement. When the statement is sent to the ODBC driver error 7587 is generated. This can be verified by turning on tracing within the ODBC Administrator tool and looking at the SQL statements being sent to Progress in the resulting log file.
FIX:
This is caused by a bug in the Microsoft Query program. Contact Microsoft Technical Support.
